news of the rapture

The Rapture - Olio off the 7" Vinyl Mirror from ... ~ 1999(?)

CMJ today ran a blurb regarding the final stages of production on the 3rd LP from The Rapture. The band has been working on the record from some time in the new york area with Futureheads collabo Paul Epworth and Chemical Brothers producer Ewan Pearson (this from NME clipping - not sure which issue). on a side note, Pearson has put out a couple electronica records of his own back to the rapture ... final production work is taking place right here in LA with the guy who took automators job from the gorillaz. you know .... what's his name... dangermouse.

From CMJ:
vocalist Luke Jenners told Rolling Stone, "[Danger Mouse] just treats us like samples. Instead of me going in and playing a guitar part, he'll take a little loop of it and use it to sound like something's exploding. It doesn't even sound like a guitar after he's done with it sometimes. That's new for us."
[snip]
the band half-seriously has suggested Taco Party [as an album title] ]in honor of their love for the delicious Mexican dish.

yes, that was me reffing CMJ siting rolling stone quoting luke jenners. all so i could post a rip of old vinyl from the

the album is currently expected sometime this summer.
