Friday Lovin' :: Birthday Wishes And Chromeo Dreams

Daryl Hall And John Oates - Miss DJ
Chromeo - Woman Friend

tonight is The B's birthday, and the descent into madness starts at 8. so here's a couple tracks to build up a head of steam for the inevitable dance floor. the first one is a track from Do It For Love (feb 11, 2003) - the second or third comeback attempt from the musical equivalent of peanut butter and chocolate (two great tastes that taste great together): Daryl Hall And John Oates. There's some sweet little guitar loops mixed in with some flattened out snazzy drum kicks and that unmistakable vocal swagger of daryl hall's pristine white-boy soul.

as with the krogis/kinks posting from last week, i'm also throwing down the follower for this phantom mix tape (since tonight we're going to paaaar-tay - i'm talking all my sister and me). The follower is Woman Friend from Chromeo's synth-pop dynamo She's In Control (feb 3, 2004).

a few drinks and a wide open dance floor tonight could leave me asking myself, just like daryl at the end of Miss DJ, "Did I Get Too Funky?"
