who are the grammys?

nothing could be more meaningless than the grammy awards - for fuck sake, jamie foxx is a nominee. jamie foxx is the ashley simson of R&B. so with that in mind, here's some things that are actually WORTH watching, courtesy of youtube.com
youtube is one of the best sites for video clips. how best is it? how about Kinks best. is that best enough for you? how about watching the 1966 video for "Sunny Afternoon"? or Waterloo Sunset? dave davies looks like a fucking member of mars volta in that one... if you actually want to see a live-live video instead of all the crappy tape performances, check out the bands 93 performance of Till The End Of The Day for a BBC session.
this band in particular i have very little visual memory of. we're all used to seeing a million posters and magazine covers and concert footage and press pics of the beatles, the stones, zep, iggy, bowie, the who, marc bolan, or even rod stewart and the faces ... but the kinks - i don't really have much memory of the kinks other than the music itself.
in the end all i could think was how much Ray Davies looks like Richard Kind. because i'm shallow like that.
