Sunset Rubdown @ The Echo (Feat. Spencer Krug of W.P.)

Sunset Rubdown - A Day In The Graveyard II
Sunset Rubdown - Snake's Got A Leg II

For those of you that don't speak initials: W.P. = Wolf Parade.

Spencer may be the closest thing to a Jeff Mangum revival i've heard - an eerie cacophony of never ending lyrics. Krug also has close tyies to CA's Frog Eyes. the Absolutely Kosher site lists him as a band member - i believe he played drums with FE for a bit... might have been keys.

It does, doesn't it...

Gram Parsons - Love Hurts

sometimes i just like to post stuff that you should have in your bag in case you don't already. Gram Parsons solo work is hardly my favorite, but you can't sneer at a guy who lead the Byrds and the Flying Burrito Brothers before diving headlong into the country sound... and yes, that's Emmylou Harris singing in duet on this classic. Not only did Emmylou have amazing phrasing and a crystalline voice, but she was her high school class valedictorian ON TOP of being wicked hot.

Vitalic - Birds (Video)

Vitalic - Birds (video)

Vitalic is excellent as electro goes and in full demonstration of amazing taste is this video to Birds. Flying dogs and a neon lazer "V". Brilliance.

The Charms

The Charms - Life In Movies

This track is from the bands most recent full-length Pussycat (Red Car Records - 2005), but some recent and very exciting news is that Jim Diamond is signed up to produce the bands next LP. You like Jim Diamond because he has produced crackling records by Electric Six and White Stripes. We'll see just how much crunch and punch he can pack into the next charms record.
